THE FIRST PRESIDENT
İsmail Rüştü CİRİT
The first President İsmail Rüştü Cirit was born on March 23th, 1955 in Burhaniye. He completed his secondary education at the İzmir Namık Kemal High School. In 1978, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of İstanbul University and then he completed his military service as a reserve officer in Şavşat.
Having begun his career as a judge nominee in Burhaniye, he served as a judge in Hakkari, Araklı, Ahlat, Inegol, Kadıköy and a chairman of Zile High Criminal Court and Üsküdar Criminal Court.
On July 19th, 2004 he was elected as a member of Supreme Court by the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors. On March 10, 2011 he was elected as the President of 13th Criminal Law Chamber of Supreme Court by the Grand General Assembly of Supreme Court. On February 10, 2015 he was elected as the First President of Supreme Court by the Grand General Assembly of Supreme Court.
He is married and has three children.
